Tabung, our compact lampshade made from skilfully woven rattan, is a handmade piece of art for your home. With its elongated, narrow shape, it lends a special aesthetic to small rooms or corners in particular, without appearing bulky.
The criss-cross wickerwork pattern gives Tabung a timeless beauty that makes it an absolute eye-catcher. As the rattan is woven into a sturdy metal frame, our rattan lampshades retain their uniform shape over the long term. Please note that cables and bulbs are not included. Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow back quickly without any chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundantly available material.

When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
