The long, flexible leaves are carefully harvested by hand, cut into narrow strips, and then gently dried. When selecting our local production partners, we emphasise fair payment, safe working conditions and reasonable working hours. We work exclusively with small family businesses that have a maximum of 20 to 30 employees. They are all experienced craftspeople of legal age. Older people in particular, who can no longer work in agriculture, benefit from jobs in handicrafts, allowing them to use the skills they have learnt from an early age to earn money and pass on traditional production methods to the younger generation. They have often told us how happy they are to be able to create something meaningful with this work and earn a good living. As all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process generates hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
